Incidents of sexual abuse at Mannar Hospital have led to female employees refraining from reporting to work. According to hospital sources, the families of these employees are reluctant to send them to work after multiple cases of sexual abuse were reported.

Several female employees have lodged complaints with the hospital administration, alleging that senior officials at Mannar Hospital invited them to their rooms and sexually assaulted them. Some of these complaints and voice recordings have been circulated on social media.

The complaints further state that women working night shifts are frequently called to the rooms of higher officials under various pretexts, where they are subjected to sexual harassment.

The complainants also revealed that a few female employees have agreed to this practice in exchange for benefits, including special privileges and holidays.
