A young woman was hacked to death near the Kurunduwatta Racecourse grounds in Colombo this afternoon.
The dead body of the woman was found behind the Race Course the close proximity to the Football Federation Building.
Police believe suspect that the murder may have taken place around 1 pm today.
According to the Police, the victim was a 24-year-old youth named Chaturi Hansika Mallikarachchi, a resident of Homagama Kiriwatthuduwa. So far no suspect has been identified.
Kurunduwatta Police are conducting further investigations.
