Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mizukoshi Hideaki, engaged in discussions with Anura Kumara Dissanayake, leader of the National People’s Force (J.V.P), earlier today (19) at the J.V.P Head Office.
Accompanying Ambassador Hideaki were Deputy Head of the Japanese Embassy, Katsuki Kotaro, and Second Secretary, Imai Kaori, while representing the National People’s Force was National Executive Member, Vijitha Herath.
The meeting delved into multifaceted issues concerning Sri Lanka, including the prevailing economic crisis and the political landscape. Both parties exchanged views on the upcoming presidential election.
Of particular note was the discourse surrounding the National People’s Power’s stance on the interventions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Japanese diplomatic delegation expressed a keen interest in understanding Sri Lanka’s position on economic matters, reaffirming Japan’s commitment to continued investment in the nation.
