The Bishops of Jaffna and Mannar have requested all churches in the North to restrict the services to be held in churches at midnight on December 24 for Christmas and not to allow people to attend church unnecessarily. Attendance for the midnight mass is to be limited to clergy.
They have also requested people to celebrate the holiday at their homes and though mass will be held throughout the day, the church has requested people to reduce attending them.
The bishop said that devotees should go to churches at their convenience to receive God’s blessings and pray for the eradication of corona disease from the world this Christmas.
