Presidential Adviser Lalith Weeratunga says that the World Health Organization (WHO) will provide vaccines to Sri Lanka within a legal framework. He said the responsibility for such vaccines would not be borne by the company that manufactured them.
The cost of the relevant stock of vaccines to be supplied to Sri Lanka will be borne by the United Nations.
Weeratunga said that all options for obtaining a vaccine are currently being explored and discussions are underway.
He added that Sri Lanka was more likely to receive three vaccines, Sputnik V, made in Russia, Sinovak, made in China, and AstraZeneca, which was made by Oxford University.
