The Department of Meteorology has forecasted heavy rains over 100 mm for several provinces in the next 24 hours. Accordingly, the Eastern, North Central, Central, Uva, Wayamba and Sabaragamuwa districts will experience heavy rains over 100 mm and severe lightning.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers the department said.
