Former DIG Vass Gunawardana who is on death row has tested positive for Covid 19 according to prison sources. He has now been transferred to the Welikada Prison hospital for treatment.
Gunawardana and several others were convicted and sentenced to death over the killing of a businessman in Bambalapitiya.
