The Central Provincial Director of Health Services says that not a single case of the Covid-19 has been reported in the Kandy District during the second wave of the pandemic in Sri Lanka. However random PCR testing is set to commence in the Kandy district tomorrow (26).
Currently six Covid 19 patients have been identified in the central province. Two patients are from the Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat area in Nuwaraeliya district and the others are from Bagawanthalawa and Hatton. Two patients have been reported from Matale and Naula from the Matale District.
Polgolla Co-operative College, Kandy was turned into a quarantine center yesterday (25). Currently 25 persons are undergoing quarantine at the center. One person from the center tested positive for Covid yesterday. He is a resident of Badulla.
The Medical Faculty of the University of Peradeniya conducts 80 PCR examinations per day and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is conducting 180 examinations.
