A businessman who had illegally traveled to India from Thalamannar by boat has been arrested by the Coast Guard in Danushkodi, India. The man was arrested yesterday (21) by the Indian authorities.
According to reports the boat he had traveled in belonged to an Indian fisheries businessman from Rameshwaram. He had paid Rs. 30 000 to be transported to India.
The businessman identified as Mohamed Hussain is believed to be a resident of Ramanathapuram, Nambuthalai. Carrying out his business from Trichy, he had visited Sri Lanka for business, sources said. He was arrested when trying to return to India.
The concern for such activities is to bring the spread of coronavirus because it is not controlled.
