The first team of four Officers and 26 Other Ranks in the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps’ (SLAMC) 6th contingent who completed their near 16-month long tenure of service in the United Nations Peace-Keeping Mission in South Sudan’s (UNMISS) Level-2 Hospital returned yesterday (16) and was despatched directly to the the Diyatalawa and Passara Quarantine Centres for necessary quarantine procedures.
The UN chartered Ethiopian Airlines flight No B-767-300 touched down the Colombo International Airport at about 2.30 am yesterday and all personnel were subjected to PCR tests before they were taken to quarantine Centres. The 6th contingent of 61 Army personnel, including 11 Officers left for the UNMISS assignment on 3 July 2019.
