Court Rejects Suresh Sallay’ s Requests, Orders CID Probe to Continue

The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (01) ruled that the investigation being conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) into former State Intelligence Service Director Suresh Salai will remain under the supervision of the current CID Director and cannot be transferred.

The order was delivered when the case was taken up before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today.


In a detailed 23-page ruling, Colombo Fort Chief Magistrate Pasan Amarasena also rejected Salai’s request to be provided with writing materials and stationery.

The Chief Magistrate further dismissed Salai’s request to make a confidential statement before the court.
