Roshan Mahanama Honored at Prestigious Sports and Community Awards in New Zealand

At the esteemed 2023 Sports, Community, Arts and Culture Awards held in Auckland, New Zealand, legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Roshan Mahanama was presented with a special commemorative award by Indian Newslink. The award not only recognized Mahanama’s significant contributions to cricket but also acknowledged his outstanding community service through the Roshan Mahanama Trust.

The event, which took place at the Swaminarayan Complex in Papatoetoe, South Auckland, saw the attendance of over 650 individuals. The occasion celebrated the achievements of 65 individuals from the South Asian community who have excelled in sports, arts, culture, and community endeavors.

Distinguished guests, including ministers, the Leader of the Opposition, Members of Parliament, renowned figures in New Zealand’s sporting history, and influential members of the business community, graced the event.

Expressing his gratitude upon receiving the award, Roshan Mahanama humbly stated his pride in receiving such a prestigious honor. He emphasized his commitment to continuing the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the Roshan Mahanama Trust, which has now been further reinforced through this recognition.
